In Vitro Fertilization Costs

Managing the Cost of IVF

At NCFMC, we understand the emotional and physical strain that can occur with fertility treatment. The added stress of the financial aspect of care can be overwhelming. To minimize this financial stress for our patients, we are contracted with most major insurance plans (see list below). We want to ensure that there are no surprises at critical times during your treatment, so we provide access to financial coordinators to determine your benefits prior to embarking upon any treatment plan. Whether or not you have insurance coverage for the cost of IVF, you will be given detailed information about your specific financial responsibility, by our knowledgeable staff.

Our Northern California IVF center is pleased to offer a group of financial options for those patients who need In Vitro fertilization. Because of our consistently high IVF success rates, we are able to offer a special plan that will refund a portion of the medical fees if a pregnancy is not achieved, as well as all inclusive pricing for multiple attempts of IVF with the single cycle “series savings plan” and our Plan 2.

Please be advised that these plans are designed to offer patients some degree of indemnification against failure as opposed to a "guarantee" of success. In addition, treatment recommendations for plan participants are not different than for those who elect other financial options. Specifically, ovarian stimulation protocols are not more aggressive and recommendations for the number of embryos to be transferred are not influenced by which plan is chosen.

The cost of IVF with donor eggs also includes the operating room, anesthesia, but does not include additional donor fees, such as donor compensation, insurance, testing, and medication.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Refund Plan $16,110

The IVF Refund Plan refunds $8,400 of the plan fee if a 12-week pregnancy is not achieved following a treatment cycle. A treatment cycle includes all of the in-cycle monitoring, the oocyte (egg) retrieval, sperm preparation and oocyte insemination, the embryo transfer, surplus embryo cryopreservation (freezing) and storage (for the first year), and two pregnancy tests, provided these services take place at Northern California Fertility Medical Center. If a pregnancy is not achieved following transfer of the fresh embryos, the Refund Plan also includes a discounted fee for transfer(s) of frozen/thawed embryos until a pregnancy is achieved or until all of the embryos have been transferred. Qualifying couples may use this plan for up to three different treatment cycles using a fresh embryo transfer.

*Note – the Refund Plan discounted FET cycle fee: $500

Prepaid Multiple IVF (Plan 2) $15,000

Plan 2 provides IVF candidates with the opportunity to undergo two cycles of treatment for a reduced fee. The cycle of treatment must begin prior to the woman reaching the age of 40 years. Patients choosing Plan 2 pay a one-time, non-refundable fee of $15,000* for two (2) fresh IVF attempts over a period of 12 months, cryopreservation (freezing) of surplus embryos, and unlimited frozen embryo transfer cycles necessary to transfer all frozen embryos achieved in the fresh cycles. *This fee does not include medication, anesthesia and operating room fees, or assisted fertilization (ICSI). Please contact one of our financial coordinator for details.

None of the cycle plans at Northern California Fertility Medical Center include the cost of pre-cycle testing or medications.
